Hello, I’m Hanka
I’m a veterinarian, certified veterinary homeopath, pet nutritionist, and herbal medicine practitioner for animals.
I support dogs and cats with chronic health concerns through a natural, whole-animal approach that looks beyond isolated symptoms and considers the bigger picture — including history, nutrition, lifestyle, veterinary findings, and long-term patterns.
Consultations take place online for clients in Ireland and internationally.
My Story
My journey in veterinary medicine has taken me from conventional practice into the world of natural and holistic care.
I grew up in East Germany, near the Baltic Sea, where I developed an early love of nature and a deep curiosity about natural healing. As a teenager, I had my own herb garden and was fascinated by what plants could do to support health.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, new possibilities opened up. I eventually came to Ireland, fell in love with the countryside and farm life, and later studied veterinary medicine in Berlin.
After graduating in 2001, I returned to Ireland and spent more than 10 years working in mixed veterinary practice in Counties Donegal and Galway.
Over time, I felt increasingly drawn towards a deeper way of understanding health and illness.
A very personal loss became a turning point in my life and led me to question more deeply why chronic disease develops, what true healing means, and how we can support the body in a gentler, more holistic way.
That journey led me into years of further study in natural medicine — first for human health, and then more and more for animals.
Today, I combine my veterinary background with additional training in homeopathy, nutrition, herbal medicine, medicinal mushrooms, tissue salts, and energy-based approaches to support animals in a more individual and thoughtful way.
My Approach
When a dog or cat has a chronic health issue, I believe it is important to step back and look at the full picture.
Rather than focusing only on one symptom, I look at patterns over time, medical history, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, previous treatments, and the animal in front of me as a whole.
This helps me create a personalised plan that is practical, gentle, and tailored to each pet.
I often support pets with concerns such as itching and skin problems, digestive issues, thyroid imbalance, kidney disease, and cancer support.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every pet is different, and meaningful change usually takes time, patience, and careful observation.
While I never promise outcomes, I bring my full care, experience, and dedication to support each animal toward better balance, comfort, and vitality.

A Little About Me
I live in beautiful County Galway with my husband, our two sons, and our animals, including cats, dogs, sheep, and cattle.
I love nature, gardening, and continuing to learn about natural living and healing.
Living close to animals and the land is a big part of who I am, and it continues to shape the way I work every day.
My Mission
My mission is to support dogs and cats with chronic illness in a gentle, thoughtful, and individual way — and to help their people feel more informed, supported, and hopeful along the way.
I know how worrying and overwhelming it can be when a pet is struggling and things do not seem to fully resolve.
My goal is to help you better understand what may be going on and to guide you with a personalised natural plan that supports your pet as a whole.
I also care deeply about education. Through consultations, webinars, eBooks, and courses, I want to help pet parents feel more confident in caring for their animals naturally and supporting long-term health through good nutrition and a whole-animal approach.
